A picture of a livingroom somewhere cannot be submitted without a property release. So some people thought to be very clever and submitting those under illustrative editorial. They arn't. If you photograph cars they may be newsworthy.

As always, there may be a grey zones. And the moderator is always right, even if they err. 😉

If an image contains a company logo, brand name, or branded products, you will need to edit it so that it is not recognizable before registering it as a regular asset.
If you are registering it as editorial content, no such editing is necessary.

You cannot register an image as editorial content unless you have a certain amount of sales history.

Thank you, so it's only about brands? What does "news" even has to do with it, then? I though that it's about something like making a drawn image of historical event photo, for example.
Then, i can, for example, upload the caricature on real people that will clearly show who is being caricatured?
Or, can i make a comedic images about some of the world events without people on them, or with symbolic caricatures like placing Winnie the Pooh (public domain version) in the science lab with bats in jars?

When using it for news articles, buyers purchase it from Editorial Content.
You can use it without worrying about logos or brands.

If a train accident occurs, you can purchase and use photos of trains and station buildings registered in Adobe Stock.

Editorial Content cannot be used for regular websites, brochures, products, etc.

Editorial content of illustrations is okay according to the rules, but I rarely see assets registered in the wild.

Also, editorial content is not accepted by AI.
