What is the percentage contributors are paid.

Question

I asked Adobe customer support in an email if they could tell me what is the percent from the sales I made that I am being paid for. As of now I am still waiting for an answer! I ask these forums if anyone asked this question before and received an answer.

I have seen some of my sold images that I receive in the emails for example: $8.58 for a single download but paid $0.99 cents. To me this is less than 15% in revenue. Let's be candid here does anyone sees a fair payment in this? (Shutterstock is even worst right now they don't show you how much they sold it for and their payments are pennies in comparison.) Shutterstock adobted the membership route which they charge for someone to buy stock images and the customer can download up to the amount they paid for any images they download.

Alamy does't sell often from my experience but they used to pay 50% for each download. Now has gone lower to 40% but still higher than most sites.

We do not receive communications from Adobe telling us the price for which our assets are licensed; however, you can see on your statistic page the exact amount of royalty that you earned. From that you can computer the Buyer's price since we earn 33% royalty. If you received a $.99 royalty, that means that the Buyer has a 10-asset per month subscription for which they pay $29.99, which is $2.99 each. 33% of that is $.99.

In a nutshell, the cash amount varies by the customer's Stock plan & the type of license they purchased (standard, enhanced, extended).

Your royalty percentage remains constant regardless of what the customer pays.

Photos, vectors, illustrations - 33%,
Videos - 35%.
