Hi guys what is the purpose of a CSV?

Excuse my ignorance, if I do a CSV I don't have to fill in the metadata on the page when I submit an image.

The CSV file contains the metadata. You have to fill out the metadata there.

It's thought to prepare mass uploading of assets. You prepare the metadate for each image comfortably on your couch and can upload and submit tons of pictures in a few clicks.

This Help page describes what a CSV file is used for. It doesn't include metadata, but it does include titles and keywords.
