When you have Photoshop, you should use this trick to check your cutout work:

Use the stroke effect:

And choose a colour that contrasts well with your design:

You can then correct areas, where you did make a mistake:

(Some of your mistakes may be visible without this).

 

My sceenshots are from Photoshop on the iPad, but the desktop version of Photoshop works the same. If you use a different editor, you need to find out how to get a similar effect. When you are done, you put the visibility off and you can save the file as a PNG with the transparency channel. Keep the original (nondestructiv) Photoshop file to add additional corrections, if needed.
