What is the recommended EPS version for vectors on Adobe Contirbutor

Right now I uploaded only JPEG files to my Adobe contributor account. However, I am a designer and I was uploading large numbers of vector files on other contributor sites. Now I am planning to upload those vector files on my Adobe contributor account as well.

For other sites, I always select "Illustrator EPS 10 Version" while exporting my vector EPS file because those sites only accept vectors with "Illustrator EPS 10 Version".

So my question is what is the recommended or acceptable EPS version by Adobe for vectors that I want to upload on my Adobe Contributor Account? If I will export and upload vectors with "Illustrator EPS 10 Version" then is it fine or any other version will be the best choice? Kindly let me know about that.

EPS 10 is ok.

Illustrator files would be the best solution. EPS is a dead file format that does not evolve anymore. So any latest format version will be readable by any dumb program.

I haven't purchased an EPS file in over a decade. EPS is an outdated file type.

I prefer to have vectors in a modern Adobe Illustrator file -- .ai or .svg.

Whatever you submit to Stock should be compatible with modern software.

Good morning, Nancy. I’m a bit late, but I’d like to ask you something.

I’ve been having trouble uploading AI files to Adobe, though I can easily generate SVG or EPS. Is this simply a matter of market demand, or is one format genuinely better?

From what I understand, you would recommend uploading SVG instead of EPS, right? My doubt is genuine because SVG seems modern, lightweight, and suitable, yet I keep seeing EPS used rather than SVG on Adobe Stock. Thank you in advance

Hi, I want to share something from my personal experience. I’ve been creating vector assets for about 9 years, and during that time I always uploaded EPS files to all my contributor accounts, including Adobe Stock. But about 5 months ago, I started uploading my vectors as AI files instead and to be honest my sales went up about 5x of the (.Ai) assets. I’m not sure if it was just luck or if Adobe promotes AI files more but my sales definitely increased a lot.

Another issue I had with EPS files is the preview quality. As far as I know we cannot upload a preview image along with the vector file. When I uploaded EPS files, the previews Adobe generated looked very washed out compared to my original colors. With AI files, however, Adobe’s auto generated previews look accurate with colors matching perfectly.

So if you’re able to upload AI files on Adobe Stock, I highly recommend going with AI instead of EPS or SVG.
