1. Burned out / overexposed highlights.

2. Bad cropping.

3. Harsh shadows.

Food photography is tricky.  There are some professional Food Photographers on YouTube whose tips might help you, like this one on prop selection.

One and three would be solved with more indirect lighting. As for the cropping (two), I would opt to see the whole plate or crop much more narrow.
