Question

Why do I need a model release?

Trying to submit this photo but it's saying that I need a model release before I can submit it. I don't know why. The category automatically suggested was Graphic Resourses and I left it at that. I think that's better than Landscape or Architecture. Any other thoughts or suggestions on the photo? Still trying to get the hang of this. I used to get a lot of Artifact/Noise issues. Then I started using Lightroom and now I get Technical issues. Thanks for your suggestions.

You shoul tick the correct flags. You need to say that there is no people or property reconisable in the picture. No model release (for people) or property release (for things) is needed here as the picture shows generic subjects.

A release is not needed but, I assume it will get rejected for technical issues. Focus, blown out whites and dark shadows. What purpose would a buyer use this photo for? There is a reason that a category does not exists.

Why are you able to know exactly what the needs of 1 billion users around the world are? perhaps it would be more useful to focus if there are actually errors in the image ... this in general obviously and without being controversial

The photographers answering here can only guess what Adobe want, but they have accumulated thousands of successful submissions and hundreds of rejections, ready to share what they feel. Because, for sure, Adobe won't.

Did you accidentally click "Yes" on the prompt:  Recognizable people or property?

Nope. The "No" button was checked.

I suppose it was checked by error. There is no AI involved falsly claiming that ther is a face.

I assume the reviewer checked the wrong box.  Clearly there are no models in this.

It just looks like a photo of lumber and pebbles to me.

Can you show us a screenshot of the rejection notice?

Tried again. The "Model Release" did come up again, but the submit button did work this time. Now it's in review.
