If you look at the contributors public portfolio you will see that she has several such assets. I too believe that some buyers may be interested in this.

Also, why does it concern you? If it is a mess, it is no competition because no one will buy it.

    It sends a confusing, mixed message. Stock either has a double-standard or the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

    私もデザイナーですが、他の何かと合成する時に、ボケた効果の背景は役に立つのでよく使います。
    私自身の作品としても、前後にぼかし効果がある画像を度々提出していますが、「品質の問題」として却下される場合があります。でも前後が大きくボケた写真が採用されたこともあるので、審査員が気に入るかどうかも関係あると思います。

      It can very well depend on the moderator. One should also keep in mind that if a buyer wants to blur the background, they can do that themselves. They can't "unblur" a blurry background.

        Actually, this kind of image could be a background for designer's work. I have similar assets,  and they have sales.
