Adobe Firefly Has Become Nearly Unusable Since the Updates
At this point, I am beyond frustrated with Adobe Firefly.
I am a paying customer and a content creator, and I have not been able to consistently create or upload content in over a month because of how poorly this platform has been functioning.
Things were working relatively well back in August. I had a workflow, I was creating content, and although the platform wasn’t perfect, it was usable. Then came the updates, and everything seemed to go downhill.
What exactly are we paying for at this point?
One of my biggest frustrations is the complete lack of consistency when using reference images. What is the point of providing a reference image if Firefly is going to completely disregard it? Characters change appearances, features are added that were never present, and the generated results look nothing like the references provided. Even with detailed prompts and explicit instructions, the platform repeatedly does whatever it wants.
For content creators who rely on character consistency, this makes the platform practically unusable.
And don’t even get me started on video generation. Simple movements and actions that should be relatively straightforward have become unnecessarily difficult, if not impossible, to generate correctly. I find myself wasting time rewriting prompts, regenerating content, and trying to find ways around problems that should not exist in the first place.
The most frustrating part is that these aren’t isolated complaints.
I visit this forum almost daily, hoping to see updates, bug fixes, or some indication that Adobe is actively addressing these problems. Instead, I see other paying customers expressing the exact same frustrations.
And what do we get in response?
Apologies. Generic explanations. Another suggested workaround.
Respectfully, enough is enough.
Customers should not have to constantly invent new workarounds just to use features they are already paying for. We should not have to spend hours troubleshooting a platform that was functioning better before these updates.
And when generations fail to follow basic instructions, we’re not just losing time. We’re potentially wasting paid generative credits trying to correct issues caused by the platform itself.
I want actual answers from Adobe:
- Are these issues with reference image consistency and video generation officially being investigated?
- What specifically changed in the updates that caused previously functional workflows to become so unreliable?
- Is there an actual timeline for fixes, rather than another temporary workaround?
- How is Adobe addressing the wasted credits and money customers are spending on generations that fail to follow their provided references?
- Why are paying customers seemingly being left to troubleshoot the same problems repeatedly without meaningful resolutions?
I understand that generative AI isn’t perfect. I don’t expect every generation to be flawless. But there is a significant difference between occasional imperfections and a platform becoming so unreliable that it disrupts someone’s ability to produce content altogether.
I should not have to fight with software that I am paying to use.
I have invested time into learning this platform, developing my characters, and building a creative workflow around its capabilities. Having that workflow disrupted by updates, with no clear resolution in sight, is unacceptable.
I don’t want another apology. I don’t want another link to a tutorial. I don’t want another workaround that requires ten additional steps to accomplish something that previously worked.
I want Adobe to acknowledge these problems, communicate what is being done to fix them, and provide paying customers with a realistic timeline for improvement.
Because right now, it genuinely feels like we’re paying to beta-test a product that becomes less functional with every update.
And that is not acceptable.
