Question

adobe taking credits when generation fails

Dear Adobe Support Team,

I am writing to report a billing issue I encountered while using the image generation feature.

I submitted the following prompt:

“6. Diplomatic Quarter / Embassy Row — Tree-lined district of grand embassy compounds, varied international architectural styles, flags along wide boulevards, guarded entrances, manicured gardens, low-rise but prestigious buildings, peaceful residential atmosphere, aerial perspective, near proximity to government district but quieter, realistic lighting and urban scale.”

The prompt was processed twice, costing 40 credits each time (80 credits total). However, only one image was successfully generated. This means I was charged for a failed generation attempt as well.

If this continues, I will effectively lose credits without receiving the corresponding output. Being charged for unsuccessful generations feels unfair and makes it difficult to justify continuing my monthly subscription.

Please review this incident, refund the credits for the failed attempt, and clarify how such situations are handled. I would also appreciate any steps you can take to prevent this issue from recurring.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
MM

    Hi Mysterious29403839twxv,

    Thank you for writing in.

Here’s how credits work on Firefly: credits are deducted when you click Generate, but if a generation fails with an error, those credits are automatically returned to your balance.

In the first screenshot you shared, the balance shown is after the error occurred, so the refunded credits must’ve been already included. The second screenshot shows a successful generation that cost 40 credits, which explains the balance change from 480/2000 to 440/2000.

If you’re certain the first failed attempt deducted credits without a refund, please let us know and we’ll review your credit activity on our side.

    Thanks.
