animations not animating... again!
I’m honestly getting really frustrated with AI video generation at the moment.
I’m paying a monthly subscription that isn’t exactly cheap, and a significant number of my generations are failing to follow very simple animation instructions.
And this isn’t limited to Firefly. I’ve tried different models, including Firefly, VEO and Kling, and I’m seeing essentially the same problem.
I’m also not trying to generate complicated scenes or elaborate sequences. The only video generations I use are for looping scenes, usually taking a still image and adding movement to the environment so it can be looped in a music video.
I’ve already tried the prompting suggestions recommended during a previous discussion, including simplifying the prompts and being very specific about the movement I want. Unfortunately, it still produces failed attempts.
Quite often the result could reasonably be classified as a static video. The subject may move slightly, but the environmental movement I specifically requested is either ignored completely or barely happens.
The frustrating part is that every one of these attempts still consumes credits.
And now I’m reaching the point where my credits are going to run out, meaning I’m going to have to pay for additional credits if I want to continue using the service this month.
That really shouldn't be happening.
I know what I need in terms of video generations for the month. My usage isn't suddenly increasing because I'm generating more content. I'm losing credits because I’m having to make repeated attempts to get the system to perform what should be relatively simple animations.
I’m not expecting AI video generation to be perfect. I understand that these systems will sometimes get things wrong. But when the requested animation is something straightforward, such as clouds moving across the sky, wind moving clothing, dust travelling across the ground and changing sunlight, I think it’s reasonable to expect those instructions to have some meaningful effect.
I’ve followed the recommended prompting techniques, tried different models and deliberately kept the scenes simple, but I’m still losing credits to unusable or effectively static generations.
So my question is:
Is there any way to have credits returned for generations that have clearly failed to follow the requested animation or produced what is essentially a static video?
Because at this point, I’m being put in the position of having to buy additional credits simply because the system has repeatedly failed to produce the animation I asked for.
The monthly subscription is already an additional cost. Having to pay again because of failed generations doesn't feel reasonable.
I’d really appreciate some clarification on how failed or unusable generations are handled and whether those credits can be restored.
