Best workflow for generating fashion model mockups before a Photoshop composite?

I do product photography for a small clothing brand and I'm trying to streamline part of my workflow. Right now I shoot flat lays of garments, then use Photoshop's Generative Fill to place them on stock model images, but the fit and drape often look off around the shoulders and waist, especially with fitted pieces.

Has anyone found a good pre-Photoshop step for this? I've been testing a couple of standalone AI model generators to get a cleaner base image before I bring it into Photoshop for final retouching and colour correction, and the results vary a lot depending on the garment type.

Specifically I'm running into:

• Fabric texture flattening when the garment has any pattern
• Awkward hand and finger placement on fitted sleeves
• Lighting mismatch between the garment shot and the generated model

Curious what others are doing here. Is anyone using a dedicated tool before Photoshop, or is Generative Fill alone getting good enough results now that a separate step isn't worth it?
