Damn it, gimme what I want Ai..

I'm just trying to get a pile of cartoon Gummi bear sweets (we all know what they look like!) but no matter what I try as a phrase I get some sweets that look nothing like Gummi bears and a bear looming over them sitting in the background and messing everything up!!

I don't want the bear and I want a pile of gummi bear sweets. Why is this not possible?

 

- a cartoon drawing of a few gummy bear sweets on a white background

- a cartoon drawing of a pile of bear shaped jelly sweets on a white background

- a cartoon drawing with outlines of a small pile of gummi bear candy sweets

etc etc.

 

Anyone have any ideas how to generate this?

Sometimes you have to be very specific in prompts. I think this is closer to what you want:

multiple gelatin-based small, glossy, smooth, semi-transparent rubbery-texture bear-shaped candies . on a white background 

 

Note that "Gummi" with the letter 'i' is a trademarked term, so stick with the generic term "gummy".  Firefly avoids using trademarked terms.

Sometimes you have to be very specific in prompts. I think this is closer to what you want:

    A few tips:

    • try to describe as detailed as possible (needed)
    • but do not include extraneous words
    • You are not having a conversation with the model, so do not use full sentences.
    • I sometimes ask Google Gemini, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot for help describing something.  In this case, I asked copilot.  But usually I find Google Gemini is the best at describing. (I included that chat session below and you will see where I got some of the words.) Note, you cannot use the exact prompt they give usually, because they do not follow the tips I listed above. I use them to get the right terminology.
    • make sure your description flows. The order is important. See how I ordered the words.
    • Generally (there are exceptions) do not use styles (like cartoon) in the text of the prompt, use the styles

     

    Learn by doing and seeing what other people do. The Firefly Discord is a great resource where people share their work and ask questions about how to do something. The daily challenges that Katarina Jovanovic does are great to build prompting skills and see how others tackle the same challenge. I also learned a lot from attending the Prompt Jockey sessions hosted by Jack Watson and Shawn Kosel Mon-Thur at 11am ET in the Discord.
