Does Firefly sometimes use credits even when generation fails?

I’ve noticed that occasionally Firefly fails while generating an image, but the generative credits still seem to be deducted. It’s a little frustrating when nothing is actually generated.

Has anyone else noticed this recently? If a generation fails because of an error, do the credits normally get restored automatically, or do you need to contact Adobe support?

Just wondering how this is supposed to work.

    Correct answer N8.

    Regarding your credits:

    1) Before you hit generate take a screenshot.

    2) Then press generate

    3) If you get the error msg check your balance.

    4) take a screenshot of your points after generating.
Post the 2 separate point value screenshots here: the point value before and point value after.

If you were not able to find the results in your Generation history in your Creative Cloud app, please provide us with the following:

    • A Full Screen recording : Please provide a single screen recording of your entire browser window, which should include:
      • Your credits balance before generation.
      • The error/issue occurring.
      • The balance after the error and page refresh.
    • Workflow Context:
      • The full prompt you were using. (if it’s not fully visible in the recording)
      • Copies of any reference images, keyframes, or original images used.

This recording will allow our team to pinpoint what’s happening and ensure any improper deductions are addressed.

    Other Steps to take
This behaviour has been caused by interference from browser extensions in the past (such as ad blockers). Can you try in private browsing/incognito mode or in another browser as a test?

    Which model(s) were you using?
Consider clearing cache, cookies, and using a different browser.

Could you give us more information: what msg are you receiving? Are the images your own photos/ images? Were the images generated by another AI Source, if so which one(s)?

    Creative Cloud app

I have noticed something similar. As a result, I have had a look in my Creative Cloud app to see if the image/ voice/ video has been generated before pressing “Generate” again to conserve credits.

Could you have a look in your Creative Cloud App and see if the image/video is hiding there?

    >>Press generate: ONLY ONCE<<. If the generation is taking forever or not generating, check your CC App.

Ideally, they should be returned, but not necessarily immediately. Keep track of your credits after failed attempts and if they aren’t returned within a reasonable amount of time, contact customer support. They want to know.
