Firefly can’t understand what you ask of it. When I ask it to "remove all white" or "remove white space" it changes the white to a checkered pattern similar to how Photoshop shows clear space, but the background is a real checkered pattern.

You can use the “Remove Background” feature if you are trying to convert a subject to a transparent background.

@Chuck Ladd Firefly image models do not support true transparency. Try using Google Gemini if you are trying to remove white backgrounds, etc. to transparent results.

I sometimes use Gemini as the rendering engine within Firefly. Is that what you mean when you suggest I use Gemini?

Using the “remove background” tool in Photoshop for the web only removes the white outside of the seal and not inside it. When you ask Firefly to do this sometimes, instead of checks, Firefly does nothing (although maybe it cleared all the white and then replaced it with white).

Also, I would use the color picker in Photoshop to do this, but that feature is not available in Photoshop for the web and I can only access my Adobe account online when I am at work (they will not let me install Photoshop desktop or any other paid software that the company does not own on my work computer)

It may be that I am writing prompts that Firefly interprets differently than I intended. Can you reply with a prompt that will reliably remove all white from a BW image and replace it with clear?

    Hey @Chuck Ladd

Could you provide an example and your prompt that you are using?
    Which model?

This helps us help you. In addition, we can attempt to find a work around or replicate the work flow that you are using.

    Cheers

Here is an example. I misspoke before, I am attempting to delete all of the white in the original of this image and leave clear space instead. This is so the final PNG that I create (my engineer’s seal for Maryland) is black only with the rest transparent, so it does not obscure the content behind the seal.

Seal image with transparent background. I ended up manually editing this to remove the white from the seal. in the middle.
