Question

Firefly - Composition feature in text to image is buggy

Firefly (current web version as of 12/6/2025)

Windows 11

Firefox and Chrome

When using text to image in firefly,

if you use a composition image or an image for styles,

and then you remove the image,

it continues to use the image.

Expected: If no compositon image is in the prompt then no composition image should be used.

Actual: Firefly thinks we're still using the ref image for composition and styles.

I suspect you're having trouble with this bug. Here is a repro that may help you figure it out. Do the same sort of thing for styles to see it there:

1. Select the ref image shown in the screenshot as the composition image
2. Using the prompt "a woman captured in a contemplative pose" and run it
3. Unselect the composition image in the prompt
4. Notice it's still selected in the gallery
5. Run the prompt again
6. Notice it's still using the composition image even though it's not part of the prompt
7. Unselect the composition image in the gallery
8. Run the prompt again
9. Notice it's still using the ref image as the composition image.

Closing down Firefox will reset the image. Logging out or using a new tab has no effect.

Eventually, you won't be able to upload an image.

Okay one more!

Styles is doing the same thing. It seems to be the using of a ref photo for anything that's the problem.

Hi iamhammer42!

Thanks for sharing the detailed post. I tried your prompt with the reference image and got these images:

Let us know if you're still having an issue.

Thanks

Did you follow my repro steps exactly? (Devs tend to not do that, I know)

I'm seeing a lot of bugs with Firefly.  If you want me to submit them, please follow my repro steps exactly. I'm not sure what you actually did, but if you followed my steps exactly, and you're still getting the contemplative pose, then you've repro'd the bug.

Thanks,

One more reply with more information:

If I close Firefox all together, and then come back in and run the same prompt, the composition is NOT being used. This tells me that there is something in memory that's causing this issues.

Okay, that's it, any more and you'll have to put me on the payroll. LOL.

More info: I'm using Firefox 144.0.2 but Chrome 142.0.7 does the same thing.

Also, eventually it won't let you upload composition images. If you log out and then back in, you are able to upload images.

Logging out and back in does not fix this bug issue. Starting in a new tab doesn't fix the issue.
