Firefly generated images for packaging & clothing (commercial use query)

Hi there,

I've used the "Generate Vectors" feature in Illustrator to create a series of illustrations (that I've modified afterwards) that I want to use on a client's packaging and on promotional t-shirts (ie commercial use). Is this use allowed? Are there any restrictions to be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Samarth!

For clarification, see attached images.

I used only Firefly 3 or 4, which had the "commercially safe" mention.

Nowhere did I see any messages that indicated "not for commercial use".

Further, the image attached is the subject and style I generated a few versions of - very generic, with no logos or recognisable faces or copyrighted characters.

1.  So I'm all good to go then, to finish up the packaging?

2.  Is there anyway to open the prompt history of a particular image that I generated - using the Layers panel where it's listed as a "Generated Object"?

3.  And where would I see the mark "not for commercial use", should that ever come up?

Again - many thanks!

Absolutely, you are permitted to utilize the generated output for commercial purposes. It is important to note that we do not specify the phrase "for commercial use" during the generation process.
To review the history of your generated content, simply navigate to the "Your Stuff" section located in the menu bar on the left side. When you click on the image, it shows the prompt and all 4 images that were generated.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.
Thanks

And to expand on the above - there is nothing in the Generation window that indicates "BETA"...

HI @karls74109419

Thanks so much for reaching out and for sharing how you’re using Generate Vectors in your work. It’s always exciting to hear that these tools are helping bring real client projects to life.

You’re welcome to use the vectors you create with Illustrator’s generative features, including edited versions, on product packaging and promotional items like t‑shirts, as long as the feature you’re using isn’t specifically marked as “not for commercial use” in the app or documentation. If there’s no such warning, they’re designed to be safe for commercial use.

A couple of things to keep in mind: avoid prompts or results that clearly reference existing logos, copyrighted characters, or designs that belong to someone else, since those rights still need to be respected. And if you’re ever unsure because a project is high‑stakes (for example, a core logo or big brand rollout), it can help to double‑check with your client’s legal team as well.
