Question

FireFly is eating my credits, but then "something went wrong" no image generated and credits gone. That's borderline dodgy guys. please contact me asap.

Hello,

I’m writing to formally raise an issue with Adobe Firefly.

Firefly is repeatedly consuming my credits, then returning a “Something went wrong” error with no image generated. The credits are still deducted despite the process failing. This has happened multiple times now.

To be blunt, this feels borderline unacceptable. I’m effectively being charged for outputs that don’t exist, with no warning, rollback, or recovery mechanism in place. From a user perspective, that’s not a minor bug — it’s a billing and trust issue.

I’m unhappy with this experience and would like the credits that were consumed during these failed generations to be reimbursed as soon as possible. I’d also appreciate clarity on whether this is a known issue and what’s being done to prevent it from continuing.

Please contact me ASAP to resolve this. I rely on Firefly as part of my workflow, and this behaviour makes it difficult to justify continued use.

Thanks,
Franco

The same thing happened to me exactly from four months ago. I reached out to customer support and they sent me an Excel report showing that I’ve been using Firefly credits through InDesign, but to be honest I don’t even know how this happened as I have never used Firefly within the InDesign app, I just don’t know how. They then closed my customer case without negotiation. So dodgy. It’s technically a false promise to say that I have monthly credits within my subscription, and somehow it magically disappears or gets eaten by other apps.

    Hi girlofbirthday,

InDesign includes several Adobe Firefly‑powered generative AI features: Text to Image, Generative Expand, Generative Fill (beta), Alt Text, Generate Text, and the AI Assistant.

Generative credits are consumed from your balance whenever you use these features in InDesign. For more details, please check this FAQ page.

Let us know if you have any other questions, we’ll be glad to help.

When you press the generate button, the credits for that generation are deducted from your balance. If the generation fails with an error, the credits should be added back, but it might not be instantaneous. If after a few minutes and reloading the page the credits have not returned, please take a screen shot of the full browser window, preferably with the error showing, and tell us what model, resolution, and length you were using.

Yeah, thanks! I got that same reply before. Please read my issue again. Very hard, impossible to make screenshot of the process, the credits, at the same time, mate. I NEED A BACKLOG of my entries. I NEED ADOBE TO SHOW ME THEY GIVE ME MY CREDITS BACK. At the moment, you’re not helping much by repeating what your collegue already mentioned.
