Ya... the eyedropper tool can be a bit of a hit and miss.
Each model same while being different:

Style & Composition
Click on the composition or style box and the eye dropper will appear. 
If it doesn't select the image or style:

- refresh the page

- close the project and reopen

- if this doesn't work let the team know. Share a screenrecording and upload it to Youtube to create a shareable link of your workflow.
