First time using Firefly.

I uploaded a picture of my puppy. I asked for wings of a butterfly to be put on her. It gave me wings burt not what I wanted, but that was my fault.

So I asked for wings that will match her fur and not be widespread. The app fixed the wings but changed her face. I asked the app to try again and NOT change her face. It changed it more and deformed her shape somewhat. This was my first attempt at learning Firefly, but I don’t want to waste credits if it won’t do what I ask it to do.

Source image vs 2nd image vs 3rd FF image

Her face is changed enough that she doesn’t look like my dog. What is wrong with her eyes?
What is wrong with her face and why is her hind leg wrinkled? It looks like FF turned her into another breed or applied dwarfism on her.

    Hi clareking,

    Thanks for writing in.

Let me make one thing clear: generative AI is all about experimenting, especially when the prompt isn’t very detailed or precise. Writing an effective prompt is key, and here are a few tips that might help in the future:

    • Avoid negative prompting: Instead of saying “not wide spread”, describe exactly how you want the wings in terms of shape, position, or color.

    • Specify what to preserve: Don’t assume the AI will keep elements unchanged, be explicit about what should stay intact.

    • Choose the right model: Some models perform better than others because of how they’re trained.

You can also refer to this articale for more details on how to write an effective prompt.

With that in mind, here are the steps I took:

    1. Selected a good model: Gemini 3.1 (w/ Nano Banana 2)

    2. Wrote a detailed prompt: “Add wings to the puppy that blend seamlessly with its fur color and texture. Keep all of the puppy’s features intact and preserve the original background. The wings should appear naturally attached and harmonious with the puppy’s look.”
    The results of my generation

One more tip: if results don’t look accurate, we recommend submitting feedback directly by clicking the thumbs‑down icon that appears when you hover over the image. That feedback helps the team better understand the issue and improve the behavior.

I hope this is helpful. Feel free to come back with any other questions, we’ll be happy to assist.
