Gemini 3 (w/ Nano Banana Pro) poor result

It's not uncommon for Gemini 3 to produce the same image passed as the prompt, but with lower quality, without the changes indicated in the prompt. In other words, it doesn't do anything as indicated.
Despite the poor result, FireFly still takes the generative credits.
For privacy reasons, I can't provide more detailed examples (eg.: the prompt used and/or the reference image), but I'm sure (because it happened to me several times with Gemini 3) that it happened to others as well.
What do you think?

Hey @Milkoconlaelle

Just to add a bit more to what @daniellei4510  and @droopydog500  mentioned.

The process of prompting and getting the desired results ends up being a lot of trial and error.

Steps to take:
- Delete the images that are not working for you How to Delete multiple Files

- Open a new tab and start over or with a reference image: style or composition image.
- Keep in mind that high resolution images will give you better results.

- Use a different model

- Look at the gallery and see if there is an image that is somewhat similar to the desired outcome.

- Draw out the image (even a rough sketch can help.)

**Gemini 3** is a 3rd Party Partner Model: Not an Adobe Product.

mentioned that this work is for a client.)

in my opinion, despite workarounds, this remains a bug.

This happens with Gemini 3 even on its own platform outside of Firefly. Sometimes, it will re-generate the same image from two or three generations back. The work-around appears to be not just a page refresh, but clicking the browser link itself to get back to a clean slate.

thx @daniellei4510 this is what happens to me: Firefly it will re-generate the same image.

in my opinion the bug is related to the reference image and Gemini3 model. if I use another model (not Gemini) with the same prompt, the result is "acceptable", not always as expected but acceptable...
i'll try to experiment with your workaround.

thx

Hello @Milkoconlaelle,

Thank you for your message.

The output of Gemini 3 will always be around 1.1 million pixels, the arrangement on x and y axis depending on apect ratio (such as 1152 × 928 pixels). So, it does not simply edit the image provided, it regenerates it with the output having a standard resolution, regardless of the resolution of the input image.

On changes, it is really hard to provide an answer without seeing the image and prompt. But it certainly is possible that the prompt text did not have your intended effect and might have cause imperceptible changes.
