Having trouble with Firefly Boards using Firefox

I tried Firefly boards for the first time today. I was in Firefox, which is the browser I always use. I have no problem generating, but boards was a different story. I placed a file from stock, and then could not click it. It was like it jumped away from my stylus. It kept shrinking to 1% and changing size but I could not click it. Artboards worked the same way - I tried to create one and then could not select it. It also bounced around and kept changing size. When I tried both in Microsoft Edge, everything worked just fine.

I’m on Windows 11. Firefox is up to date. As I said, I’m using a Wacom Tablet and stylus.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make Boards work in FireFox? I’d rather not have to change browsers just for Firefly boards (I ended up created the board using Photoshop.)

Thanks.

Hi MarcySB,
Thanks for sharing all those details, that’s really helpful.

Since you mentioned the issue only happens in Firefox with your Wacom tablet and stylus, it would be useful to narrow down whether the tablet input is part of the problem. Could you try interacting with Boards in Firefox using just a mouse or trackpad to see if the behavior is different?

If it works fine without the tablet, that points to a compatibility issue between Firefox and Wacom input. If the problem persists even without the tablet, then it’s likely a broader Firefox compatibility issue, and we’ll have to escalate to our product team for more clarification.

Let us know what you find.

I tried it again in a private window without changing anything. Stylus did not work (went to 1%, would not do anything correctly). Mouse worked - I could add text, with the zoom at 100%, but the text formatting never showed up.

I disabled the performance settings as you asked and it got worse. Now the message that this browser was not supported returned. I could not get anything to work correctly. With the tablet, the view kept going back to 1%. With the mouse, I could get the content to fill the screen but I could not move any of the text boxes.

I was not able to test with no extensions as I have NordPass and Webroot set up to work in private windows. Also, and I had forgotten this, apparently FireFox thinks Webroot is the organization managing the browser. I have no idea why, or what that means.

I do not know another web app to try - I do what little drawing I do on the desktop.

At that point, I was so confused as to what I had and had not been able to do, I gave up. It feels like the issue may be with me somewhere but I have no idea where.

It does not look like I’ll be using Boards very much, which is a shame since it is now part of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop.

Sorry I was not more help. This started just taking more bandwidth than I have.

I tried it with a mouse and it seemed to work. So the issue must be the tablet. I have no idea how to fix that.

That said, when I created a new board, I got this message:

So even though the Adobe website says Firefly is compatible with Firefox, the new board does not.

I don’t use a mouse at all and don’t want to keep opening another browser to work with Firefly boards, so I am not sure what I will do going forward. I did finish the board I needed in Photoshop using artboards.

How does an answer get marked as correct? I had not even looked at this yet, but when I came in this morning, it is already marked as correct.

Thanks for your help,

Marcy

Hi MarcySB,
Thanks for confirming that it works with a mouse.

To help us narrow this down further, could you try the following quick checks in Firefox with your Wacom tablet:

  • Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox go to Settings > General (scroll down > Performance > uncheck “Use recommended performance settings” and “Use hardware acceleration when available”). Then test Boards again with the stylus.

  • Test in a private window with no extensions enabled, to rule out add‑ons interfering with tablet input.

  • Try another web app in Firefox that uses stylus input (for example, an online drawing tool). If the stylus behaves oddly there too, that points to a broader Firefox + Wacom compatibility issue.

If the stylus only misbehaves in Firefly Boards but works fine in other Firefox apps, that’s valuable evidence for the product team. If it misbehaves everywhere in Firefox, then it’s likely a browser‑level issue.

Let us know how it went.
