Hello @george bonilla,
Welcome to Firefly, and thank you for the question. The confusion around "unlimited" is very understandable as it does not mean what most people assume.
"Unlimited access" in qualifying plans applies only to standard generative features, such as Generative Fill using Adobe's own native Firefly models. For those features, credits are not deducted at all. However, premium features generally consume credits regardless of your plan.
There are two exceptions worth knowing about:
- Some plans include a limited number of complimentary premium generations at the time of purchase as part of a promotion — for example, a small number of free video generations to try the feature. This could include a promotion that all generations using a specific model are complimentary for the plan year. I understand this can be confusing because two people with the same plan could have different complimentary models.
- Adobe occasionally runs time-limited promotions that provide complimentary generations for specific models, such as when a new model is released
Outside of those promotions, premium features always consume credits. These include:
- Video generation (all models)
- Partner models such as GPT Image, Gemini (Nano Banana), FLUX, Runway, and Kling
- Firefly Image 4 Ultra and Firefly Image 5
- Audio generation
- Rotate Object in Photoshop
- Turntable in Illustrator
The 200 credits you are seeing is most likely from video generation or a partner model. For example, video generation using the native Firefly model costs 100 credits per second at 1080p.

To use standard features without consuming credits, select a native Firefly model (not a partner model, not Image 4 Ultra or Image 5) in the model picker when using Text to Image or Generative Fill.
