I have an active Photography Plan (20 GB). When I try to use firefly in photoshop I have to pay for credits.My friends doesn't have this problem.

Yes, this is completely normal, what you are running into is Adobe's Generative Credit limit, which works differently depending on the specific plan you have and when you signed up for it. Here is why you are seeing a difference:

• Your Plan's Credit Limits: The Photography Plan (20 GB) includes a set number of generative credits per month. Depending on exactly when you originally subscribed, your account is allotted either 250, 100, or 25 credits each month. Once you use those up by generating images or using Generative Fill in Photoshop, you hit a paywall and are asked to purchase more until your limits reset the following month.
  (Note: As of January 2025, this specific 20GB plan was discontinued for new users).

• Your Friend's Plan: It is highly likely your friend is on a different subscription tier. If they are subscribed to the Creative Cloud All Apps plan or one of the Pro plans, they receive a much higher allotment (typically 1,000 credits) or have unlimited access to standard generative features without being stopped by a paywall.

What are your options? If you only use Firefly occasionally, your credits will automatically reset at the start of your next billing cycle. If you find yourself needing to use Firefly constantly like your friend, you might want to look into upgrading to a plan with a higher credit limit or purchasing a Firefly monthly credit add-on.

Each plan is different. When looking at a plan that sounds similar to yours, the monthly generative credits this plan has 25 credits. This is normal.

Maybe your friend bought a Firefly plan as well?
