Not sure why my images "violate guidelines" (image depicts children)

I attempted to generate video from two different photos of a man and his mother and a family walking in the woods. Both were immediately rejected. Then I used Firefly to generate an image of a man holding his daughter and tried to use that, but it was also rejected. I've attached these images here. I can find no reason that the system would reject these on a content-level. So any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

Hi @Felix3LGato !

Thanks for pointing that out. Firefly currently avoids generating videos from images that include children. This is a careful step to make sure the model handles such content responsibly. We know it can be limiting, but it’s part of ensuring safety as the tool improves.

Thanks

You're automation reviewing if images meet the guideline are inaccurately blocking an image that meets the shared guidelines.

Hello @Scott22039795jleq,

In image to video, the model will not use as a keyframe an image that depicts children. That is a current limitation of Firefly video.

I submitted this picture as a starting frame and gave it the prompt of "Have everyone slowly shifting around and looking at each other playfully and lovingly as they line up for a photo shoot" and your system tells me I'm violating a user guideline.

In this day and age of AI.. where it's likely an AI that's deciding I've violated a guideline, wouldn't it help if your system told me WHAT I'd done wrong instead of "read these several reams of webpages and guess"?

Where did I go wrong?

Hello @Allison37192506siip,

At this time, image to video will not generate videos from keyframes that contain children. That is a current limitation of Firefly video.

so should the guidelines be updated from " [Can not]....Depict nude minors or minors in a s*xual manner"

To "Cannot depict minors in any manner"?

So that they reflect the actual rules?

[Update: lol, I can't actually quote the guidelines here because of word censoring..]

i created an image using firefly from text to image. then i added the image reference to create a video, and i got "can't load" cause it doesnt match the user guidelines!

Why is this happening???

Hello @Med Lyn,

The issue most likely is that currently, image to video will not generate videos from images that depict what it believes are children.

"Unable to load

We cannot process the description because the reference image
does not meet our user guidelines.

You can upload a different image and try again."

What is wrong with using this image? It was created in firefly text to image.

Firefly image to video seems completely useless!

Hello @stefanb89086155,

Firefly video currently has a restriction that it will not generate a video where a keyframe has what it believes is a depiction of a child. That restriction is regardless of the origin of the image used in the keyframe.

The Firefly would not allow me to generate a image to video for the company im working for (please see the attached).

And gives this warning:
"We can't process this prompt because the reference image doesn't meet our User Guidelines. You can upload another image and try again."

I was able to generate it via Kling Ai but ideally would prefer to use firefly that already has a subscription then paying for a new one Thank you

Hello,

I'm having this same issue, even though the image doesn't show a child. It's clearly a grown up woman. So what can I do to make it work?

Many thanks for your help,

Diego

Hello @default4g5akvfhllji,

Unfortunately, I think this is also the child filter. I am not aware of a way around it without altering the image (to make the person appear older). When I altered the image to make the person older, the generation worked.

Why can't I generate a video from my photos? I always get this message: I have tried with different photos

Unable to load

Hello @Frama77,

Thank you for your message.

Most likely, it believes that image contains a child and the beta model will not generate videos from keyframes it believes contain children. That is a restriction of the beta.

I also tried the Image with the adult person only. Same result.

I am a photographer and I was really excited to try adobe firefly on some sports portraits that I have taken. I uploaded one of my favorite images from a recent shoot and I added smoke and edited.... I wanted to make the smoke move but got the following message:

Can't load

We can't process this prompt because the reference image
doesn't meet our User Guidelines.  You can upload another
image and try again.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the image???

March 13, 2025

Hey @michaels78909240

It could be that the image is hard for Firefly to determin what the image is exactly.
It is a very cool image. It's just a bit dark and smoky. (Just an observation.)

The glove over his face could also be causing some "confusion" for Firefly.

Consider making the image clearer and brighter.

Cheers

O. Nate
