Generative credits are shared across the AI features in Creative Cloud, so usage in Photoshop (Generative Fill, Generative Expand) or Express can draw down the same balance you see in Firefly. That's the most common reason for a drop that doesn't line up with activity inside Firefly itself.
 

A good next step: pull up your generation history and go through it file by file. Each entry shows the credits used for that specific generation, so you'll be able to spot where the balance went even if some of it happened outside Firefly.
