Subject: Concern About Unexplained Content Blocking and Its Impact on Racial‑Justice Advocacy

To the Adobe Firefly Team,

I am writing to express serious concern about Firefly’s refusal to generate an op‑ed style image addressing racial disparities in Ohio. I received no explanation for the block, despite being a paying subscriber and despite the image being intended for legitimate social commentary and public‑health advocacy.

The concept I attempted to create focused on the documented estimate that 45,000 to 55,000 Black Ohioans have died prematurely over the last 20 years due to preventable racial disparities. This is a matter of public record and public concern. My goal was to create an image that communicates the urgency of this issue and encourages civic engagement.

Instead, Firefly rejected the request without transparency or justification.

When tools designed for creativity and expression block racial‑justice content—especially content grounded in real data—it raises serious questions about algorithmic bias, unequal enforcement, and the ways automated systems can silence the very communities most affected by injustice. This is not a small matter. It directly affects the ability of Black creators and advocates to tell the truth about our lived experiences.

I am requesting:

  1. A clear explanation of why my prompt was blocked.
  2. Transparency about the policies or automated filters that prevented the image from being created.
  3. Assurance that Firefly’s safety systems are not disproportionately suppressing racial‑justice content.
  4. A review of your moderation processes to ensure they do not reinforce the very inequities many of us are working to expose.

As a paying customer, I expect equitable access to the tools I am funding. As a Black creator and advocate, I expect not to be silenced when addressing issues that directly affect my community.

I look forward to your response and to meaningful steps toward transparency and fairness.

Sincerely,
Floyd Walden

Could you provide the exact prompt or prompts that you attempted to use? Sometimes a seemingly innocuous word can cause issues.
