Reference images field bug

When I drag images into the Reference images window I sometimes get the image cropped and stretched as shown in the attached screen grab. The image is preserved but it sometimes makes it difficult to recognise what the reference image being used is.
This is within Firefox on a Mac.

This is pretty wild! lol

Does this happen every time? If not, is there anything in the images that is different from the images that do not do this? If you try using Chrome, do you have the same issue?
