Structure Reference feature completely broken / ignored recently (Web and App)

Hi everyone,

I've been experiencing a major issue with Adobe Firefly over the last few days, both on the web version and the app.

The Structure Reference (Composition) option is completely broken. When I upload a reference image to guide the layout or composition, Firefly completely ignores it and generates something totally random that has nothing to do with my chosen image. I tried turning the strength slider all the way up to the maximum, but it doesn't change anything; the composition is not respected at all.

Interestingly, the Style Reference feature is still working perfectly fine for me. The issue seems strictly isolated to the Structure/Composition tool.

Is anyone else experiencing this sudden drop in consistency or having their reference images ignored lately? Any workarounds?

Thanks!

    Hey, @julienc18923838 !

My suggestion for this generation is: "Using the reference image and keeping the details, make the person put more whipped cream on the toothbrush".

Because when you place that reference image and write basically what is already in the picture, the AI ends up getting confused, hence the unexpected result that you showed me.

    Best,

    Gabriel

@julienc18923838 I would like to add a little something:
Gemini and Kling worked respectively well.

Make sure to look at the setting before hitting generate. If you need 2k you may need to change the settings.

I just noticed something very strange. If I use a completely unrelated prompt (that has nothing to do with the reference image), the Structure Reference actually works and follows the layout! But when I use my actual prompt describing the scene, Firefly completely ignores the structure and overwrites it.

    Hi, julienc18923838!

I'm sorry you're having issues, I'll help you.

Can you send the prompt and the reference image, together with a screenshot of the result?

I'll try to reproduce the error on my end!

    Awaiting on you,

    Best,

    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,

Thank you for your quick reply!

Here are the details to help you reproduce the issue:

    • My Prompt: A laughing child putting whipped cream on their toothbrush, ultra detailed, vibrant colors

    • The Reference Image:

    • The Result Screenshot:

As you will see on the screenshot, even with the structure strength set to maximum, the final layout doesn't follow the reference image at all.

Let me know if you manage to reproduce it or if you find a workaround.

    Best regards,
