Was Gemini 3.1 (Nano Banana 2) recently updated in Adobe Firefly?

Has Gemini 3.1 (Nano Banana 2) recently received an update or change to its image-generation behavior in Adobe Firefly?

Only a few days ago, I used this model to create a consistent series of handcrafted chibi felt characters with smooth, simplified faces, small black bead eyes, stitched mouths, compact plush proportions and no defined noses. I am now using the exact same prompts and settings, but the results look noticeably different.

The model is automatically adding sculpted noses, realistic eyes, visible necks, longer adult proportions and more detailed facial anatomy. The characters now resemble stop-motion puppets rather than the soft chibi felt dolls the same prompts previously generated. I have rewritten the prompts with extremely specific construction details, uploaded earlier images as visual references and explicitly described the blank felt faces, but the model continues producing the newer appearance.

When I reopened some older generations on mobile, Firefly also displayed a message stating that the original model was not supported on mobile and that a default model had been selected. On desktop, those generations show Gemini 3.1 (Nano Banana 2), so I am unclear whether the model itself changed, whether Firefly is routing generations differently or whether a new default is being applied.

Was there a recent update that was not announced? If so, is there a changelog or a way to access the previous model behavior? Is there a recommended model or setting for maintaining the same established stylized characters across new generations?

This has been very frustrating because character consistency is essential for an ongoing visual series. Prompts and references that worked reliably just days ago are no longer producing comparable results, making it difficult to continue existing projects and causing credits to be spent troubleshooting an unexplained change. More transparency around model updates that materially affect established workflows would be greatly appreciated.
