I prompted firefly to create a sign that tells employees they must wash their hands before returning to work and then it makes signs that say "Asian" or "latinx" or "Light skinned". This is pretty bad, why would it do that?
Because it has seen that kind of imagery in its "training". It can only give you stuff it has seen before. It does not interpret the meaning of what you want like a human does. THese things are not meant to replace designers.
Hi @dennis_2510 , Firefly (and other GenAI tools) will often fill the gaps with its guesses of what is most appropriate. As @jane-e mentioned, using another tool to add text for your sign would be better than getting Firefly to do it.
If you share your prompt, it will give a better sense of what you're asking for and suggestions of variations could be provided that may give a better result. My advice is if a created image isn't exactly as you were envisioning, try reword your prompt with extra detail or a different way of expressing the image and that may give you a better output.
I had a go and with Image 4 model, I also got results saying light and dark skin tone. My guess is that Firefly is injecting some diversity to the prompt but is getting mixed up with what should be text in teh image and what should be a description of of the graphics. Firefly has a long way to go when generating images with text.
I see that the text you asked also did not work. You might try entering the text in Adobe Express or another application, as Firefly only sees letter shapes and not words.
I can't begin to guess as to the "why" it added the strange heading...
