Question

Adobe fonts not showing up in non adobe apps even though installed

I have several Adobe fonts that show that they're installed for local apps but they're not showing up. They don't show up in any apps except Adobe. Some show up in Word but not all. Some show up in Apple Keynote but not all.

They used to show up in everything. Creative cloud says they're available for use in local apps. I've restarted my computer repeatedly.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hello! I had the same issue and none of the tips I found online worked, nor could Apple or Microsoft support figure out the problem. What worked for me (on a Mac), was to open Font Book and disable all my other fonts and restart. Apparently an installed standard font was causing a conflict of some sort. As soon as I restarted and opened PowerPoint, the Adobe fonts I had installed now showed up in my list and were usable.

I was having the same issue, had restarted my computer, etc. and here's what finally worked:

    - Toggling the activated fonts on and off under preferences in Creative Cloud

    - Closing all of my local apps I wanted to use the fonts on

    - Restarting my computer

    - Opened the program (Pages) back up

    ...And there they were!

    @scottqmarcus

Merged duplicate posts from September and December.

Did you try any of the suggestions?

Sorry for the delay; I just saw this response. Yes, I've tried everything. Nothing works.

It used to be that when I downloaded a font from Adobe and said I wanted to use it in other apps, it worked perfectly. Now, at best, it's hit or miss.

Example: I show that Origins font is available for all apps but it's not. It sometimes shows up in Word but never in Keynote, although it used to. This is the case with several fonts.

    What can I do?

    I'm using CC 6.1.0.587

Do you have a paid or free subscription to Creative Cloud? Does the typeface work in Adobe apps?

I've moved your post to Adobe Fonts where you are more likely to get help.

    Hi @scottqmarcus & @mecdos,

We're sorry to hear about this. If you have Adobe fonts that are installed for local applications but are not showing up in non-Adobe apps or are inconsistent in Microsoft Word, there could be several reasons for this issue.

    1.  Ensure that the fonts you want to use are activated and enabled within Adobe Creative Cloud.
    2. Signing out of Creative Cloud, restarting the computer & then signing in again stops any font-related processes that may not be running correctly and starts new ones.
    3.  Make sure the Adobe Fonts that you would like to use are activated.

You may also try toggling off and on the Adobe Fonts by going to the Creative Cloud app > Preferences and then Services, as shown in the screenshot below.

Let us know if that helps.

    Regards,

    Tarun
