Question

Migration to business profiles - losing fonts?

Hi there,

I am curious about others' experience with Adobe for Teams and the recent forced migration to the dual profile system. Specifically, I am wondering how fonts have been handled in the transition. At my organization, all other users maintained their fonts through the transition. I, however, lost all activated fonts out of the blue. I literally came in to work, was asked to re-sign in, and everything was gone. We didn't know this was going to happen as the reminder emails and support article made no mention of fonts being deactivated whatsoever, and for everyone else, they weren't. Some from a previous personal account on my laptop were mysteriously ported over to a "personal profile," but the ones that I actually use every day now at work are gone, and I seem to be the only one in this boat. They are not showing up in "Previously Activated" on either account, either. It just feels ridiculous that they decided I needed two accounts now and deleted all my fonts in the process. Did anyone else lose their fonts? How did you get them back?

Update: thanks to this switch, we have all lost our custom color templates and custom libraries as well.

All, it appears there is no hope for me. Tech support and everybody insists they cannot find the fonts that they deleted when messing with my account. Further, upon opening Illustrator documents, for example, my CC application will notify me that it reactivated the typeface, but still shows a replacement until I manually go into fonts.adobe.com, deactivate it, and reactivate it. Frustrating as all heck. Thanks a lot Adobe.

If your Creative Cloud account was moved or split into a Business and Personal account, please private message me your Adobe ID and I should be able to transfer the fonts over. Please note this may not restore your "Previously Active" list.

Hi Molly,

(I am re-openning this discussion more than one year later haha...)
I have the same problem and was wondering if you could help me out restore my 192 fonts deleted recently under my eyes :(...
It seems like, as my personal ID and my business ID are the same, it may have caused this font problem...

Unfortunately, I cannot send you a DM, the module is not working... Can you try to send me one yourself, this way we can chat privately and I can give you my ID ?

Thank you for your time and have a good day !

This happened to me as well. We have about a dozen CC users in our company. For two of us, our fonts are in our personal profile (which has no plan; we need to use our business profile). I also did multiple interactions with Adobe to try to transfer them to my business profile, but they told me it is not possible. And not only that, if I happen to sign in to my personal profile and activate the fonts there, it will deactivate everything that's the same in my business profile. A bad deal all around.

Ugh. Sorry to hear. One of my coworkers - whose fonts transfered just fine - just lost them, as she was looking at them. They literally disappeared before her eyes.

Same here. And other non-Adobe applications that use those fonts have to be re-activated and in some cases reassigned those fonts on many documents. Bahh. Came to work for a live production, all the fonts are gone --- with no time to reassign to the application. Poorly done, adobe.

Yes. Exactly. (Some) Adobe apps will at least warn you, but for applications that don't, this is a huge, huge headache. I reached out to tech support and had a miserable experience as usual. Spent several hours on the phone, in chat, and on screen shares. I had to explain the issue several times to several different people and even the ones that understood the issue didn't have clear answers. One particular agent kept repeating that it wasn't possible to transfer fonts, that we were warned that this would happen, and that there was "an article" that "clearly" explained this (never sent the article, by the way, and still cannot find it). He didn't believe me when I told him that everyone else's fonts transferred and kept insisting that that's not possible. He later backtracked to say that it would be possible if I had "authorized" them to transfer the fonts (which is literally what I asked them to do from the get-go), but even after I did that, they said they couldn't. I'm just frustrated.
