Course Format Suggestion

I would really like to be able to format the main course page a little bit by adding my own labels as a way to separate chunks of content.
Currently things show as one big list as in the first picture.
I would like to be able to generate a look that is similar to the second picture below.

I envision this as a choice to add content to the course but instead of picking 'Self-Paced' I pick 'Label' and type the text I want, placing it accordingly.

It could be a simple header or perhaps a short bit of narrative context or instruction for the following group of modules.
