Fluidic player first frame waiting for play button

I have published a course with a number of modules in both mp4 and Captivate zip formats.
Module 1 - Course Content (mp4), Module 2 - Summary and Mini-quiz (Cp), etc.
When started, the fluidic player will display a very low-res thumbnail from around the middle of the mp4 behind the play button, while the Captivate file will display a blank frame with the course background color (red in this case for emphasis).
I have tried editing the thumbnail of the mp4 files, but this still shows a low-res version from the middle of the film. I have also added a first slide to the Captivate project, but it is only ever blank.
I have noticed that this problem does not exist in the Adobe courses included with Prime. These seem to always start with frame 1 from the film displayed behind the play button.
Anybody out there solved this problem? Many thanks in advance for your help.
