Issue uploading CSV file using Bulk Import method

I'm not able to upload a CSV file containing a list of "first/lastname", "email address", "title", "Manager email" and I wanted to know if even though my manager accounts have already been created, whether they would need to be added to the CSV file regardless of their existence.

I get the following error proceeded by a request to select what the Manager's Id field contains, which is blank:

t

Values in the Manager's ID (parent) column could not be processed.

Seems this is an ongoing support issue as I am having the same.  I have placed all managers at the top, I have created the file based on the exact example file found in ACP Bulk Load CSV, and I am still getting the same errors.  When I changed the Manager column from email to names, it then kicked an error stating that I was not listed on the file; when I list the manager emails, the Support Column comes up blank.

This should not be this difficult. If there is specific information required for the file columns, or a certain way the system will read it, then those instructions along with a working example of a live-loaded file should be available to us.  Adobe is an L&D powerhouse... this is not rocket science... instructions should be concise and clearly written so we can accomplish this very basic task with ease.

Thank you.

You can find both an example file to download and fairly concise instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate-prime/administrators/add-users-in-bulk.html

NOTE: Each upload overwrites existing. All users not in latest upload are 'deleted' (but can be restored).

I am having an issue in the same area, but I am getting the error "Login email 'myemailhere@gmail.com' could not be found in the CSV. I have tried many combinations, but I keep coming up with the same error. I would like to attach the two of the files I was using to try and get it to work. Maybe after you post? I am adding a picture of the error. Any help would be appreciated

Same issue here. Did you find a way to make it work?

Hi David,

As discussed, the issue is resolved and CSV upload is now working as desired.

Let me know if you have any other concerns.

Hi David,

As you are working with Adobe Captivate Prime support on this issue. As soon as we have any progress on the CSV upload issue we'll post it here.

Well, I learned something new from the Captivate Prime team. You can only have one account that manages itself as "root" in the CSV spreadsheet and each time you add new users via bulk import, your entire organizational hierarchy needs to be laid out in the spreadsheet. Seems a bit inefficient, no?

Thanks David,

Do you have a small sample of the CSV file that you can share?  I still haven't been able one successfully.

Unfortunately I do not but our support rep wasn't able to get a working copy to successfully upload, so we're waiting to see at this point.

Hi,

I'm having a similar issue.  I can't seem to upload a csv successfully even using Adobe's test CSV examples.

Can I add users in bulk in Captivate Prime applicaiton?

I have about a 1000 users.  I even tried the FTP integration with no luck.  For something as basic as CSV upload it shouldn't be this complicated.  The headers on the system are Name, Email, Profile, Manager and Employee ID.

Any ideas or suggestion feel free to contact me directly.
