Question

Media Encoder 2022 has me losing clients in 2021

I just finished finished editing a complicated project in Premiere Pro. Took three days. The client this is for loves my work. The subject is for a product launch,...TOMORROW MORNING.

I followed the same step as I always do, first error was that Media Encoder wasn't installed. ('Nonsense!' I said, 'I used it this morning.') But it was gone, for sure. Media Encoder 2022 was in my CC account page, waiting to be installed, so I loaded it.

And now,...no export of any kind, to Media Encoder or directly to my computer seems to be possible. Closed the project and PP, restarted a few times,...nothing.

I have a lot on the line here. What's going on?

m not a professional but im also using Adobe Products for my projects. After every major update adobe is messing up the basic functions and now i cannot export anything like the other users. Its not the biggest deal for me, but its still annoying. But i can imagine how bad this is for people that use adobe products as their daily driver.

I installed the Beta Version of Adobe Premiere Pro and the Media encoder. Finally Premiere pro was not crashing anymore and the media export menu opened. I started the media encoder but i got the same export error with h264 and h265. Now i did a final test and let the media encoder export to quicktime, what i usually never use beside the proxys and the export startet without a error message. It seems to be a workaround on my side with exporting to quicktime and the Premiere Pro Beta 22.11

Same problem. I'm sticking to older versions of PR, AE, and ME for the moment. Updates from Adobe can be a huge PITA and aren't an ok excuse for delivering late to a client or agency.

There is a successful work around, at least for those using After Effects, in the below linked thread. I can't speak for anything but AE but, it does in fact work!

I'm having the same issues and symptoms described by everyone else in this thread.

Trying to export anything from AE via Dynamic Link in AME v22 just hangs. The Render Queue in AE is fine, but even transcoding in AME is hit-or-miss. Reverting back to 2021 releases has been a temporary fix.

Just want to jump in and also mention that it's been a nightmare for me too since the update to 2022. I had a project to deliver and I made the mistake of upgrading 2 days prior to delivery... I'm making a project using After Effect and rendering the composition using Media Encoder. Everything was fine with 2021, but now with 2022, I saw several issues:
- Media Encoder won't even add the composition in the rendering list
- Media Encoder won't start encoding (stuck at reading XMP)
- Media Encoder freeze on the 2nd pass of encoding.

My only option was to rely on the AE Render Queue, export to MOV, and converting to H264 using AME afterwards...

I second all of these points. Having exactly the same problem. Using AE and ME new 2022 versions. Uninstalled them and re-installing 2021 which is costing me time on completing my projects. What a waste of time, can't believe this has been rolled out with this bug. Will update once Adobe announces it's fixed.

Hi all,

We're sorry for the trouble. Could you specify if the issue happens with the projects created on the latest version of Adobe applications as well?

We'll look into this.

Regards,

Shivangi

No, my project created by previous version but edited and exported by AE 2022. I'd tried to create a simple test project with AE 2022 and exported to ME with no issue, but that was just a very simple sample with only few layers in it.

Same issue here. Also having problems with Premeire freezing everytime I try to color grade two specific clips. Thankfully I have a full day to figure this out. Please post if you found any solutions.

Update: Tried packaging it up and sending it to my laptop that is still running 2021 programs....Got the error message: "This project was saved in a newer version of Adobe Premiere Pro and cannot be opened in this version."

Adobe, PLEASE send a bug fix soon!!

Same problem here, sometimes reboot my macbook helps but not always and can only work for once. So I have to rendered in AE as a MOV file then drop this file to ME to render again for getting a H.264 format. Thanks Adobe for every updates...

To send to Media Encoder, it must be the same version. I don't know what happened to your Media Encoder 2021, but you definitely don't want to change versions of Premiere Pro. What version of PR are you running?

Try this first. Open ME 2022 since that is what you have installed. From there, import the PR project. Does that work?

Hi! same problem also happened to me. I was going to render one project from Adobe After Effect 2022 in Adobe Media Encoder 2022. But it keeps loading or even not loading the project at all. Already try all the recommendation and I decided to give up using 2022 version and using previous version instead. Is there any sollution for this? Or is it only happening with my computer? Thank you for your help.

Same issue. I solved it by using "Ad dto Render Queue" (not Encoder), format QuickTime -> Format Option Adobe Pro Res. Then I converted the mov file into mp4 using Encoder.
