Crash while rendering - path not found?

22.2 Build 18

Suddenly can no longer render anything. If the program doesn't crash it ends with the following error code:

The clue here is that it says "\\?\E..." The drive array spins up and I hear it writing, but nothing is saved. On normal renders that are cancelled, there is no "?" in the path.
