Adobe Media Encoder (Beta)

As the title suggested, Media Encoder Beta claims there's no HEVC codec installed and to connect to the internet to solve the problem - except it is already conncected to the internet and it's not halted by any firewalls (as it uploads to YouTube just fine).I attach the screenshot with the warning window.I'm on a Asus ProArt Studiobook 16 (i9-13980HX, 32GB RAm, 1TB SSD, RTX 4060 Laptop 8GB) with all beta apps updated to the latest build.
Kicking the tires in v.27, I noticed that when I send a job to render in AME using a preset, AME preserves the settings OK, but it calls it “custom.” If I search the presets available in AME, the preset is available in AME.It’s not a critical issue, but one that could create confusion.Thanks.
I’ve encoded a few videos from Premier over the past week and EVERYTIME it stops around 35-45 seconds and does NOTHING for about 2 hours……. WHATS WRONG WITH THIS????
As we prepare for our upcoming version 27.0 release of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Audition, we are sharing an important update regarding Macintosh hardware compatibility. Beginning with version 27.0, our video and audio applications on the Mac platform will require Apple silicon (M1 or later) processors. Intel-based Mac systems will no longer be supported for v27.0 and future updates. What Macintosh Users Need to Know Intel-Based Macs: You can continue installing and using version 26.x. Security updates for v26.x will continue per our standard support lifecycle. To update to v27.0 upon release, an Apple silicon Macintosh will be required. Apple silicon Macs (M1 or newer): No action needed. You can update to v27.0 as normal. Moving exclusively to Apple silicon on macOS allows us to focus on modern architecture and hardware acceleration across our video and audio applications. This update also aligns our roadmap with Apple’s transition roadmap: Apple has announced

Every time I open Media Encoder 26.2 or send an export from After Effects 26.2 to Media Encoder, ME crashes immediately. Apps are up to date. Tried restarting mac, didn’t work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling ME, didn’t work. ME preferences were reset to default, cache was cleared, etc., didn’t work.
Hi,I’m currently testing the Media Encoder Beta and noticed an issue with GPU acceleration. In the Beta version, the Renderer option is greyed out and locked to “Software Only”, so I can’t enable GPU acceleration. In contrast, in the non-beta (stable) version, GPU acceleration works perfectly and is enabled as expected.System details: GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti I’ve already checked that my GPU drivers are up to date and that no other settings differ between the beta and non-beta installations. Thanks in advance for any insights.
no me muestra el recuadro de la cola y cuando le doy a renderizar desde premiere a media encoder no lo pone en cola no funciona, mas sin envargo cuando hago proxis abajo si lo codifica
With the render queue cleared from the previous session, I added a render job from Premier which was ready to start.I then noticed this bit of info by the start button, “4 of 5 items processed.”As I hovered over the text, a tooltip showed how many are in process, had completed, had failed, and how many had been stopped. It shows 4 items that had been stopped or failed, but the queue was empty except for the one being processed.I would expect this to give stats for the jobs visible in the queue, not old stuff that’s no longer visible. You might look into this. Export > Send to Media Encoder Result: Render ignores layer with mask Expected: Final product should have masking System info Application: Adobe Media Encoder (Beta) v25.6.0.80 OS: macOS v15.7.1, RAM: 32,00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 8__________ Previous beta version had a warning "Some Object Masks are Offline and will be ignored" That version was only ignoring the mask, not the layer itself. I've saved the project differently and updated to the latest beta version of the After Effects Beta. Now there is no warning but render preview shows that layer with the new AI masking is ignored completely.
Not sure what happened to my other post, looks like it was deleted? CUDA is not selectable as renderer on latest build. Tried rolling back and still the same issue.
Just noticed in this beta, that AME is rendering last-in-first-out, i.e. from the bottom of the list up. It’s always gone first-in-first-out, rendering from the top of the render queue list. Was that intentional? Rendering is OK, it’s just an observation. This is totally weird.Last week I rendered a project from Premier which completed successfully. Today I needed to render a bunch of AVI files to MP4. So…I brought 25 AVI files into AME, and that’s all I had in the queue.I tweaked each one to trim the end time I then started the render queue.Result: The Premier project from last week started rendering!!! It’s not visible in the queue at all. When I stop the render queue, it does not show up as an aborted render. Restarting the queue begins the render of the 25 AVIs. Totally weird.System info Application: Adobe Media Encoder (Beta) v26.3.0.54 OS: Windows v10.0.26200, RAM: 63.79 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 16
I’m currently using Premiere Pro Beta v26.0 along with Media Encoder Beta v26.0.After completing a mask operation in Premiere Pro Beta, I tried to render the project through Media Encoder Beta. However, the following warning appeared:“Media Encoder Beta: Some object masks are offline and are therefore ignored.”As a result, the masked areas are not rendered properly. When I use Premiere Pro Beta’s built-in render system, the mask exports correctly, but when I send the project to Media Encoder Beta, the mask data doesn’t transfer.Window 10Premiere Pro Beta v26.0Media Encoder Beta v26.0
Steps to reproduce:Just finished rendering several dozen files, which worked flawlessly! The CUDA acceleration problem I last reported is fixed, and the machine went to sleep when it was done. When the machine awoke, it showed green checkmarks on all of the files that they were done, but the Encoding window showed the last file open with the progress bar half done. That had me confused for a moment. When I clicked the comment button, the Encoding window cleared and now is OK.That freeze in the encoding window could confuse someone, so I’m reporting it as a bug.
Yesterday I rendered a timeline to h.264 and AME shows a choice of renderer for either the nVidia 5080 Cuda or Software only. Today, after this update, it shows Software Only. What happened??? Hey Guys, when I go to export my sequence I did in premiere Pro Beta, using the latest "Mask" tool, as soon as I import to AME it display the warning saying "Masks are offline so won't be rendered". These mask are the subject masks made with the new function in Premiere Pro Beta. How do I fix it?
With the new versions, my graphics card isn't rendering. I don't have a CUDA option. Even though everything worked fine in previous versions.
New in Media Encoder (Beta) 25.6 build 38: Transcribe source footage directly into .prmi sidecar files so editors can jump into Text-Based Editing the moment they open Premiere Pro. If you're working with a high volume of footage, waiting for transcription can slow you down. This update lets you offload that task to Media Encoder during import, enabling transcription to run in parallel while you continue editing in Premiere Pro. This builds on our existing use of .prmi files for visual analysis which enables editors to jump into the search panel in Premiere Pro. Now, with transcription support added to Analysis Presets, Media Encoder can generate .prmi files that include both visual and textual metadata Learn more about creating visual search sidecars: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-media-encoder-beta-discussions/now-in-beta-use-media-encoder-to-analyze-your-videos-for-visual-search-in-premiere-pro/td-p/15243537 With transcription now available in Medi
I have a watch folder set and a preset to transcribe all video files in the folder. Issue number one is that for about half of the video files I get an error saying that analysis only works for media files, which they obviously are. If I put the videos into Premiere the text gets transcribed just fine. Issue two is that Premiere isn’t recognizing the .prmi files. For the videos that do get transcribed, when I put them into premiere it doesn’t recognize that it’s been transcribed already and I don’t see a way to import the .prmi files and I have to transcribe in premiere again. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something here?
I'm stacking up a list of MPEG2 VOB files to render to MP4 and I noticed that the "Renderer" reports "Mercury Playback engine Software Only." And indeed when it's rendering all the business is going on in the processor. The GPUs are idling. I have a brand new nVidia 5080 with the latest studio driver. Why doesn't AME think it's there?
