Was the file in an uploading status when you closed the app for updating? Files take some time to upload to the cloud before they are available on the app for further use.
You might want to check the file on Cloud Storage: https;//acrobat.adobe.com/link/documents/ in the Adobe Scan folder to see if the file is available.
If not, I fear the file is lost and must be scanned again.
