Question

Adobe scan failure

I scanned a large document in modified stages. The last modified scan was saved. I closed the app. I later opened the file to discover that wasn't saved, so I saved it again... this happened multiple times each time the file was saved complete. Then I got frustrated that after a number times that it was saved it stated that it was saved as I file so I clicked cancel and when I reopened and half the document was lost. This is unacceptable.

Hi @alanc21939631,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with using Adobe Scan.

From the description, it seems like there was an issue with your account's storage quota. Adobe Scan was not able to save the document because there was no space available.

Have you checked logging in to https://adobe.ly/4gGmrX2 on the bottom left to see available space?

Also, for future reference, you might want to save small chunks of documents and later combine them to get the final document.

This eliminates the possibility of file loss or upload issues.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Souvik.

With all due respect there was/is no warning for a lack of space. Even if there was a warning, there should be an option to save to my phone. This is not an acceptable performance. I should have just taken photos and converted to pdf instead of using this app, which I will no longer use.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your feedback, and I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. I completely understand how frustrating it must feel to lose work without any clear warning or an option to save directly to your phone.

While the app is designed to manage storage automatically, it should definitely provide a smoother experience. Your point about having an option to save directly to your device is valid, In the meantime, as a workaround, you can use your device storage settings to ensure the app saves files locally, or manually export your scans as PDFs to your phone right after capturing them—this way you’ll have a backup outside the app.

Tap on the Profile Icon > Preferences > Toggle on 'Save Original images to Gallery'
