Adobe Scan file size just increased in size and having trouble emailing now.

Why did my file size increase with Adobe Sacn app in one day?!
On 3/7/24 I used Adobe Scan app on iPhone 12 to scan and email 16 pages. I got a message that said file is too large, 31.1mb to email. 

On 2/27/24 I used the scan app for 26 pages and the file size was 18.3mb. Same documents only 10 more pages of the same documents. 
On 3/5/24 I scanned 16 pages of the same document to email and the file size was 12.2mb.

I use 2 form documents for my business that are 132kb and 46kb blank and 225kb and 170kb when filled in. The Scan App is so convenient for my business. 
Please help!

    Adobe Scan uses the best possible settings from your device's camera to create the PDF with the best clarity.

     

    Per the description, it sounds like Adobe Scan optimized the file when the other pages were added, so the entire document has a parity for the clarity of the PDF.

     

    You always have the option to Compress the file to reduce the size of the document.

    That solved my issue. Taking the extra step of compressing the PDF before attaching it to the email solves the issue. 
    I'm curious though what changed suddenly to increase the file sizes? I scan and email multiples of the same 2 PDF documents 5 days a week for that last 5-6 years for my business.  Why did the file sizes increase and I know have to compress them? Also the size varies. This morning I scanned 8 pages (4 and 4) the file was 9.6 mb. This afternoon I scanned 6 pages (3 and 3) and they were 14 mb. Same 2 documents just a different multiple. I don't see where I can change camera settings. Just curious why I have to compress files now.

    Hi @RIck N,

     

    Thanks for writing in!

     

    This entirely depends on how the camera perceives the images and processes them. We do not have control over how the images are processed by the device first and then added to Adobe Scan.
