I have used Adobe Scan on my iPhone for a year. Each scan was saved as a pdf which I emailed to myself for filing. Recently each scan is saved as a URL which I email to myself. But when I open the url I get a large Acrobat logo and a message that says there is nothing stored there.

You mentioned above that each scan saved as a URL, could you please let us know if you are referring to the link to file when you try to email the PDF from Adobe Scan application?
Please share the exact steps you do to email the file.
Try once to send the file using the option "Share copy" or "Share file" when you click on share link.
It will attach the PDF as an attachment to an email.
Then check if you can open the PDF file.
Please provide us the make and model of the device
Also, let us know the OS version and the current version of the application installed on your mobile device.
