Adobe Scan lost the pdf

I have used Adobe Scan before and installed it again on new my iPhone. I have enterprise CC subscription thru my employer. Last week, I took pictures and added existing photos to the pdf and it was fine. Today, I wanted to add a new page to the pdf but Adobe Scan gave the following error:

the operation could not be completed dcfsfilesystemerrordomain error 3

I tried to share it and export it, it did not work. I tried accessing it thru the document cloud (https://acrobat.adobe.com/). I could see my other pdfs but not this one. Last resort, I rebooted my iPhone and now the file is totally gone.

Searching thru Google and this forum shows so many people experiencing a similar problem. How the hell a product with such a big bug or issue can be offered? I'd understand if the cloud sync is delayed but corrupting the file is unacceptable for an enterprise grade product.

Acrobat is a fine product but Scan is certainly a very shi??y one. My file is gone now and Adobe will say they cannot do anything to recover it because it is not in the document cloud. Your product corrupted the file and failed to upload a copy, so it sure is your responsibility.

I guess no idea or suggestions from the Adobe team on avoiding such problems in the future. That leaves us with one thing. Don't bother using this piece of s??t software.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response.

Can you confirm, if you are getting this file lost issue frequently, or is it just once?

If this happened due to a crash, kindly check if the app is updated to the latest version.

Thanks,

Harsh

It happened to me once and I no longer use this app for this purpose. And as I mentioned earlier, when I used it (and had this problem), I had just installed it on my new phone so it was the latest at that time.

Hi @3530521

Sorry for the trouble. If I am getting it correctly, you have created a PDF with some pictures and saved it, then tried to add a new page but it showed the error and the PDF is now not visible on the Scan app. Right?

Could you provide us with a few more details to understand the issue better?

1. Application version?

2. Did you try with some other scan too, it is showing the same error?

3. If you are on a Wifi connection, change it to mobile data or vice versa. And check if you are still getting the error.

4. iOS version?

Kindly make sure that the app is up to date.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Yes, used some pictures from the photos and maybe even took a few pictures to create a pdf. It was there and the settings indicated to upload it to the document cloud (whether it did it successfully or not I did not check). But, I was able to open it.

Then, I wanted to add a few more pics into the pdf today but I got the error. Now the file is gone from the phone after reboot. I installed the Adobe Scan just last week on the phone so it is a pretty new version even if not the latest.

I did other scans, shared them via email and they worked just fine. They still opened today.

In terms of wifi or 5g, cannot check it now because the file is gone now.
