Adobe Scan on Mac?

I wonder if something similar to Adobe Scan exists on Mac. More specifically, I would like to upload scanned pages to Document Cloud and have them converted to a searchable PDF. I only need this for archiving purposes, so I don't really need any fancy features, except maybe being able to combine multiple PDFs into one, although that's not necessary. I also don't use it very often, maybe a couple of times a year, so an Adobe DC subscription just doesn't worth it

That's correct, to run the OCR on a scanned PDF you will need Abode Acrobat DC subscription.

However, you can upload the scanned documents or the JPEGs to Document Cloud.

They will get saved in the Adobe Document Cloud.

Hope that clarifies your query.

Hi Anton.novikov,

There is no Adobe Scan application for Mac.

Adobe Scan is only available for mobile devices.

However, as the Adobe Scan saves the scanned PDF in Adobe Document Cloud, you can access the scanned PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on your Mac or online here Adobe Document Cloud.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is a free service and can be installed from here Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution.

If you need the combined feature, it is available with the Adobe PDF pack service.

Refer to this help document FAQ | Adobe PDF Pack for more information about the service.

Check if that works for you.

If you are referring to scan the document to PDF through scanner directly and run the OCR, for that you will need Adobe Acrobat DC subscription.

The OCR feature is not available in PDF pack service.

Hope that information helps.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Meenakshi,

Thanks for your answer. Just to clarify one thing. Suppose I have already scanned a document and have a bunch of JPEGs. Am I right that I still won't be able to upload them to the cloud and run the OCR with a PDF pack subscription only and that I will still need a Acrobat DC subscription?
