Question

Once a scan is deleted in the Adobe Scan app it is permanently deleted. Why has there still been no implementation of a trash folder after so many years of multiple complaints?

When using the app on a tiny screen many thumbnails look identical and could be misidentified for deletion. Even the confirmation dialogue box asking you if you really want to delete will cover up your selection so you can't really see what it is you're trying to delete.

Every other platform and software implements a trash folder except for Adobe Scan.

And then the other thing is that you can't seem to copy multiple scans to local storage at the same time, you have to select them one by one individually which is time-consuming and prone to error for skipping or duplicating one, resulting in missing one and possible deletion of one that you did not saved somewhere else other than Adobe cloud storage, and noticing the skipped scan until after it's too late and already deleted.

It would be better to also implement an option to automatically save a copy each time you scan, to Google drive or local storage, to save that time consuming step of having to do it manually.

    Hi there,

Hope you are doing well, and thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback — you’ve raised some very valid concerns around usability and data safety.

You’re absolutely right that, currently, when a scan is deleted in Adobe Scan, it is permanently removed, and there isn’t a trash/recycle bin feature. We understand how risky this can be, especially when thumbnails look similar or when reviewing files on smaller screens.

This feedback has already been highlighted to the product team. They are aware of these concerns and are considering improvements like these for future updates. While I don’t have a timeline to share yet, discussions around enhancing file safety and workflow efficiency are definitely ongoing.

In the meantime, as a precautionary workaround, you may consider:

    • Exporting or sharing important scans to local storage or cloud services (like Google Drive) soon after scanning

    • Double-checking file previews (zooming in if needed) before confirming deletion

We truly appreciate you calling out these gaps. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
