Hi there,

Adobe scan is an excellent app for your precious documents. It has all the essential tools aligned for you.I have tried many so called scanner apps on playstore and nothing compares the quality of the scan what adobe gives. It is more live with the pictures on the scan. You guys give the best of quality and yet not taking any credits.Kudos to the team.

Only one note to ponder; where the inbuilt camera captures the image when flash is ON.There is a definite loss of quality when a user opt for a flash when the ambient light is not sufficient. The output looks literally "flashy", and it is not a good option to continue if light goes dark.I hope this gets fixed as it is more convenient taking photos using the app rather than uploading the already taken photos if you are in a hurry.

Thank you so much for your wondeful app. I'm really grateful.

I'm in the process of converting old photos to a digital format.  When i scan photos using Adobe Scan, the flash comes on and there is a glare.  How can I get this glare to not happen?  I've turned off my flash on my camera on my iPhone, but that doesn't help.

I moved your post over from the poorly named Community Help forum, which is for getting help using this forum system, to a better forum, Adobe Scan.

Really to scan photos you need a Flat Bed Scanner. Using your phone is not the right way to scan photogtraphs

I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

Hi there! I seem to be having some issues getting my scans to come out correctly post-image processing.

I use Adobe Scan to scan my written homework for my classes, but I get these "splotches" in the PDF (sometimes only one in an image, sometimes covering the whole page). I would remove them or use the cleanup tool, but the splotches are usually over my writing, so I can't really remove them. The splotches look purple-ish when the color setting is "auto color" and they look gray when it's set to grayscale.

I've attempted to attach examples of the PDF and the original image, but I've done so as cropped screenshots of both (if providing the PDF itself would be helpful, let me know). I realize that I took the scan on a stone countertop, which is not ideal, but it's the only place in my apartment with good overhead lighting. Also, the paper is quite thick (32 lb). I guess I could try using my phone flash in a place with bad lighting, but I fear that might produce glare.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a way to get rid of it reliably? If not, are there some general tips for how to produce good scans that you could provide?

Thank you!

With the latest update of Adobe scan, the flash functionality has been completely broken. On my Galaxy Note 8, the only time I've managed to get the flash to "work" it just flashed very brightly once and washed out the entire image to pure white. Previous versions of the app have worked exceptionally well. Rather than maintaining that level of quality, the scans taken with the broken flash function on this new app version are atrocious and shadowy. Why is the flash functionality no longer working as it used to?

Hi There

We have a 60 employees who are driving semi trucks and they use adobe scan to email there documents back to our office.

We are using Samsung Tab E for our devices (no flash on these devices)

One of the biggest complaints right now is image quality at low light specially if the sun goes down and the cabs of the trucks don't have enough lighting in them to allow for clear scans. I know some of the issue is there work environment but is there some kind of recommended way to enhance the scans for low light levels so they show up clear.

I have played around with the image settings that are already available in the Adobe Scan app but still having issues with image quality which comes out very grainy or blurry which makes it unreadable.

if you have any answers or further questions please let me know.

Hi Chrisd,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As you have mentioned above, you are experiencing an issue with the scanned documents due to low light.

Adobe Scan application uses the camera on the device to scan the documents.

As the device do not have the flash, there is nothing much that can be done from our end in this case.

You may try once to take an image of the document through the camera directly.

Then use "Scan from Photos" option in Adobe Scan app to convert it into scanned PDF.

Check if that may help.

Let us know if you have any questions.

how do I allow the blue capture screen in manual mode to snap pics of documents. It only appears when I have it set on auto snap pics. The old version would allow the blue capture screen to appear in manual mode.

Dear Customer,

In the Capture Screen, Auto Capture button (3 stars signs) is on the top next to Flash button, if you click it it will turn off Auto Capture function.

Please let me know if you don't see it.

Thanks
