Question

How to resolve auto unexpected quit if Adobe Scan

As soon as I opened the App, a message popped up to say that the App unexpectedly quit. I uninstalled Adobe Scan App and reinstalled the latest version of the App from Apple App Store. I restarted my iphone after reinstalling the Adobe Scan App. The same problem still exists. I have a paid subscription and there’s sufficient storage in the account. Please help to resolve the issues to enable full functionality of the Adobe Scan App. I attach the screenshot of the error page. Below is also further information for consideration:

Adobe Scan App version: 26.06.25

IOS version: 26.5.2

Hi @Alpine Pine

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out and for including all those details, that really helps!

Sorry to hear Adobe Scan is crashing on launch, especially with a paid subscription. Let's work through this together.

Since a fresh reinstall and restart haven't resolved it, here are a few more steps to try:

Clear the app's cached data
Even after reinstalling, some corrupted cache files can persist. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, scroll down to Adobe Scan, tap it, and select Offload App. Wait a few seconds, then tap Reinstall App. This forces a cleaner reinstall than deleting from the home screen.

Check iOS compatibility
You're on iOS 26.5.2, which is very recent. It's worth checking the Adobe Scan App Store page to confirm the current version (26.06.25) officially supports your iOS version, sometimes a brand-new iOS release temporarily outpaces app updates.

Check for conflicting permissions
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security and review the permissions granted to Adobe Scan (Camera, Photos, etc.). Try toggling each one off and back on sometimes a permission state gets corrupted after a reinstall.

Sign out and back in
Open the app just long enough before the crash, or try this from Settings > Accounts if accessible. Sign out of your Adobe account, force-close the app, reopen it, and sign back in. This refreshes your subscription entitlement link, which can sometimes be a silent crash trigger.

Try a different Apple ID / Guest mode
If the crash happens before you can do anything, try signing in with a different Apple ID to rule out an account-specific issue. This helps us narrow down whether the problem is with the app installation itself or your account credentials.

If none of the above works, could you share the following so I can escalate this to our engineering team?

  • Whether the crash happens immediately on launch or after a specific action

  • Whether you have any VPN or MDM profile active on your device

Regards,
Amal
