Question

How to set default scan settings?

I am trying to import some photos from gallery, only later to be converted to a PDF together.

Adobe scan app automatically applies "Auto Color" and "Cropping" and I cannot find a way to disable this.

All I want is to set default values to "Crop" or "No-Crop" and a particular "Color" so that it saves me time when I am creating a PDF from gallery photos, especially when I have a large number of photos to be imported.

This is gonna be incredibly helpful to people who are migrating JPG images from Camscanner to Adobe Scan.

Please finally do something about it.... It's ridiculous.

Either there should be an option to set a certain filter by default, or, if thats too complicated, the filter should at least be set to the original by default.

I think many would appreciate that!

Thanks and kind regards

Hi @D34212209yy8w,

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!

The option to set a default filter has been added to the latest version of Adobe Scan.

Also, once you are done scanning the pages, you can get into the edit mode-> select the desired filter, and then toggle the button "Apply to all pages," the changes should be done across all the pages you scanned.

Hope this helps.

to be honest, its a bit strange that for such a great app this is not possible yet

Hi All,

Hope you are doing well.

Thank you for posting your query here. You all can use "Apply to all pages" slide button.

  1. Open a Scan.
  2. Tap on more ...
  3. Tap on Modify.
  4. Tap on color, choose the color mode or keep it original.
  5. Slide the button to "Apply to all pages"

For reference : https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/adobescan/android/en/scan.html#adjust-the-color

To stop getting borders to adjust after scanning.

  1. Tap on settings.
  2. Tap on preferences.
  3. Under Adjust borders, slide the button as per your requirement.

For more help refer to: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/adobescan/android/en/settings.html#adjusting-borders

Let us know how it works at your end. If you have any further queries please feel free to reach out to us. We would be more than happy to assist you.

Hi Ria,

Thanks for replying. I have been using the same thing that you have just told since I have started using the app. The problem is that the scanned pages go into auto-colour directly, instead if it would have been original, it would be so great for me.

I suggest to have a setting where users can choose by default how should the pages look. Often after scanning it becomes black and white and difficult to read, and to convert them into original takes nearly 5 minutes for me.

Hope you can understand what I am saying.

Thanking you in anticipation .

I too want to turn-off the autocolor feature.  I have to scan multiple pages a day but due to autocolor they all become black and white and then it takes so much time to make all of them to original color .I would be glad if you could find a solution like having our own default options for color.

Thank you in advance 😀

This would be an incredibly helpful feature. 9/10 the way it automatically changes the color to black and white makes documents harder to read in my experiences. Being able to set the original image as the default setting would save both time and anxiety.
