d'avance merci

    Hi @Patricia+Lambert  @Jo06000

This is a common frustration, and there are a few realistic reasons why this happens. Let me walk you through what's likely going on and how to fix it.

    1. The file is still linked to an active project or shared review:
Adobe servers (especially Acrobat/Document Cloud) will block deletion if the file is referenced in an ongoing shared review, approval workflow, or linked asset. Go to the Share tab here https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/documents and check for the files under ‘Shared by you’ and ‘Shared by others’ and see if the file has any active collaborators or pending review links. Revoke all sharing before attempting deletion.

    2. You're not the file owner:
Even if you have access to the file, deletion rights belong to the original uploader/owner. If the scan was uploaded by a colleague or a service account, you won't be able to delete it regardless of your current permissions.

    3. Session/authentication token issue:
Sometimes the Adobe server holds a stale session that causes permission checks to fail incorrectly. Try this:
-Sign out completely from all Adobe apps and the web portal
-Clear your browser cache if using the web interface
-Sign back in and attempt deletion again

    4. File is referenced by an Adobe Sign or Acrobat workflow:
If the scanned file was ever sent through Adobe Sign or used in a Form workflow, it gets locked at the infrastructure level. You'd need to void or cancel the associated transaction in Adobe Sign first, then the deletion option will unlock.

    Hope this information will help.

    Hi there,

Please go to https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/documents  and check for the files under ‘Shared by you’ and ‘Shared by others’ and see if that helps.

    Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble.

When a deletion fails or is canceled in Adobe Scan, it typically means the file is still actively uploading to the cloud, caught in a sync conflict, or blocked by local app cache. Please try to clear the cache of the Adobe Scan App and reboot the device once.

For Android: Go to Device Settings > Apps > Adobe Scan > Storage > Clear Cache

For iOS:  Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, tap an app, and select "Offload App." This removes the app cache but keeps your documents and data safely intact.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi there,

Thanks for trying out the suggestion. Would you mind sharing the scrrenshot of the error message for more clarity. Also a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs would be very helpful.
